A Difficult Pregnancy But an Easy Birth

When I was pregnant with my son a few years ago, I was forty years old. I'd been pregnant with my daughter ten years before that, which was a much easier experience. In fact, people met me in my ninth month and thought I'd already given birth because I was that small and that relaxed about it all - I wasn't even wearing maternity clothes! However, her birth was a long hard process. With my son, things were reversed. The pregnancy was the hard part. I used to say that I went to bed at night feeling exhausted and woke up in the morning feeling merely tired. For the first six months or so I was nauseous a lot at various times of the day. I was trying to work a professional job at the same time so it was really hard. Luckily my daughter was ten and could take a lot of care of herself. It didn't help that a lot of the pregnancy took place in the hot summer months in a house that only had one air conditioner. But the upside was that his birth was a lot easier than my daughter's was.
