Camping as a Summer Escape

With costs rising for just about everything in our lives, camping offers a unique inexpensive way to travel. Most campsites are cheaper than a hotel, and equipment costs may be initially high, but pay off in years of use. I wouldn't consider myself a real out of doors kind of person, however my new fiance adores camping and has shown me that camping can be a different kind of fun. You will have to invest in a few things, festival tent, stove or barbecue – or just an axe grill and firewood if you want to really rough it. We stayed at a local park, close enough to the city that in an emergency we could head into town, but far enough out of town that at night the view of the stars was incredible. In fact my best memory of the trip, was sitting quietly by the river arm about her shoulder watching the moon lite glimmer, while racoons sauntered about looking for handouts.
