My Snowflake Brooch Reflects the Christmas Period

So we're deep into the Christmas break now, and I'm still decked out in Christmaswear - I have a turquoise snowflake brooch, a christmas hat on (yes, I wear this out and about still), fur boots, a knitted jumper with a nativity scene knitted into it that Gyles Brandreth would be proud of - at any other time of the year, I'd look a right idiot, but at this time of year, I see people smiling at me - I guess it's because we're all on holiday now, and I'm reminding them of that fact.

I wish we had more seasons like Christmas - instead we have a long year with few holidays. It's a pity really - we need to celebrate life a lot more in different ways. Forget all the presents and the over-indulgence - just give me more of those festive smiles and a feeling of freedom.
